Day 41
I was in a hurry and quickly snapped a few pictures of the piano. This depth of field is a little too shallow for what I wanted but I didn't have time to go back and do it again. Some days you get what you can.

Day 40
Today I spent time working on this still life. Sam suggested the angle and I quite like it. I'm getting used to a new lens that I recently got. It's a 50 mm prime lens with a 1.8 aperture. It's amazing how narrow the depth of field can be with that large of an aperture. I'm quite excited about using it. Anyway, I hope you like it.

Day 33
Another night and I didn't have a photo so I was looking around the house trying to find something to photograph. Sam grabbed this rack of craft scissors and told me to take a picture of that. So here you go. Sorry I'm not very creative but this is helping me work more on exposure and playing some more with depth of field.

Day 28
These are some pictures that we took at the rail trail in West Kaysville. It was a little foggy and cold but we had a good time. So much so that the girls didn't want to leave. I'll post some of the other pictures that we took on our family blog because Sam took a bunch of them that turned out so cute.

Day 24
So, Sunday night at about 11:30 P.M. I realized that I had not even thought about pulling my camera out and taking a picture. So, I will not have a perfect record with my 365 project, but I'm okay with that. Just for fun, here is an image that I took on Saturday so that I at least have 365 photos, even if they weren't taken on exactly the right day.

Day 23
I have to say that I'm pretty excited about this particular image. This one will probably end framed and hung on our wall. Sarah got sick of me snapping pictures of her but I think this one was well worth it. We were playing around by our big front window and I just loved the light on her face. The catchlights in her eyes is something that I've been working on. I changed this to black and white and I really love the way it turned out.

Day 22
This evening I dragged the girls out and we drove to West Layton and took some pictures of the sunset. The girls were real troopers being stuck in the car for as long as they were. I would get out, take some pictures, get back in and warm up. After a little while we moved to a second spot and it is true what they say that a silhouette in the frame makes a sunset picture more interesting. I liked these the best. I hope you enjoy them too.

Day 21
I'm still trying to find a good way to take pictures and isolate them on a white background. Tonight I tried using a small lightbox that I have so that it would help eliminate shadows. It got rid of the shadows but the background is not completely white. I'm sure there is a way to fix this in Photoshop but I don't know how to do that yet but I will figure it out soon. Until then, this is what I got.

Day 15
This idea came from Sam's cousins daughter Kathryn who has been taking a photography class at school. We used two glow sticks and Sarah had a great time helping out. I had a hard time choosing just one so here a few images. Kathryn also helped me out with photo shop and taught me how to use a couple of new tools. Thanks Kathryn!
